Sabbatical Ready
These are my balance stones. I picked them out of Lake Michigan on a family day trip a few years ago. They are part of a meditation I do to remember to take time for breathing and balance. The fact that they are stacked is an outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual Grace that I have found time for breathing and balance. This is the position I have left them in on my office desk as I leave for the long travel portion of my sabbatical next week. It looks like even Jesus is happy with it. I can hear him quoting Julian of Norwich, “All shall be well. All shall be well. And all manner of things shall be well.” I don’t know if I’ll make it to Norwich, but plenty of other holy sites and sacred wells along the way. First stop is Italy with Melissa then England with our kids. I’m so grateful for every bit of assistance along the way to create this incredible adventure and offer me this time of balance.
